Behold Cafe Rider's latest build - Project ZERO 28! Starting life as a 2007 Suzuki GSXR 1000 K7, this bike has been given the "go- back-in-time" treatment by Fahim and his team. It now sports looks that bear a striking resemblance to a 1989 GSXR Slingshot 1100. German-sourced Ricambi Weiss fairings are fitted to newly-fabricated fairing mounts.

When it came to choosing wheels Amir wasn't about to retain the 35+-year-old Suzuki rims. Instead, he opted for wider Excel Supermoto spoked rims (3.5 front and 5.0 rear) wearing Phantom Pirelli rubber for classic looks without sacrificing performance. For improved cooling, the front and rear brake discs were drilled and the callipers from a Kawasaki ZZR600 were mounted using custom-made.

The factory GSXR 750 rear brake has been removed and a custom underhung mount was fabricated for a lightweight calliper. The brake mount is captive to the swingarm for easy wheel changes by utilizing custom axle adjuster blocks. The new brake set up includes Galfer rotors, Berringer 2DI calliper and pads, Spiegler brake lines and Stahlbus.

From the outside this heavily modified '91 GSX-R 1100 has very little in common with Suzuki's original design. Now dressed in cafe racer-inspired attire it's the work of Italy's eccentric custom motorcycle builder, Mr Martini.
